Open Country Signs Reseller Agreement with ASA Computers (Sep 2006)

ASA introduces 1U Quad Opteron server with 3 hotswap hard drives (Jun 2006).

In June 2006, ASA starts selling the 1U quad dual core Opteron server (8way) with nVidia nForce Pro 2200 chipset. It supports for Intelligent Platform Management Interface v.2.0. The server uses PC3200 DDR ECC Registered RAM and can take upto 128 GB of memory. With this 1U server, customers again can rely on ASA for their IT solutions.

ASA Launched 1U and 2U Servers Using Intel Dempsey/Woodcrest CPUs (Jun 2006).

On June 1st, ASA has introduced the 
Dempsey servers for it's customers. The servers using Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5000P sequence (Dempsey processor - 1066 FSB) with 2MB L2 Integrated Advanced Transfer - Cache per core, 4MB L2 cache total, up to 3.73 GHz, 5030 CPU 2.67GHZ 4MB 667FSB. The Motherboard can support different FSB speeds, 667/1066/1333MHz. Hence, customers can upgrade to the up-coming Woodcrest CPUs from Intel (1333MHz FSB). The servers are using DDRII FB-DIMM memory. With this introduction, ASA ensures that its' customers have an access to the latest technology to improve their professional jobs. University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee (Mar 06)

A picture of the recently installed
cluster- 640 Nodes based on Opteron 175, 2GB memory, 80GB SATA drives. The cluster is named as NEMO and will be used for detection of gravitational waves.

Caltech: (Feb 06)

California Institute of Technology recently completed the acquisition of  a state of the art Beowulf Cluster from ASA Computers. This cluster features Two - Dual Core Opteron 275 processors, 4GB memory, Four 250GB drives with 3ware 9500 four port RAID controller configured in RAID 5. Total nodes 255.In addition to the same ASA is also building another 77 units with  the same configuration. Caltech will use this cluster for their research in gravitational waves.
ASA sold a 420 Node Dual XEON Cluster to Caltech in 2004 and 110 Dual XEON nodes in 2005.

Fermi Labs: (Jan 06)

ASA Computers recently completed the installation of  a 288 node compute farm. The solution comprises of Dual Xeon 3.2GHz processors, 4GB of memory and two IDE drives. Fermilabs will use this compute farm for particle physics research in association with Massachussets Institute of Technology. The Installation was done on-site by the ASA Team.
ASA is a select Fermi Linux Server Vendor.
